Hey Bloggers~, I recently went to go see the Supergirl movie with my friend, and disclaimer I have not read the Woman of Tomorrow comic yet, I tried to do so illegally. But I got tired of the pop-ups so my review might seem a little misinformed if you have read it already. But, to get right to the point I think the storyline could’ve been much stronger. Kara individually was very likable and showed a lot of
character development throughout the movie. I liked the way her backstory was shown as it really explains the mind of Kara and the struggle she faced watching her family and home die. I think this strong character could’ve been used for a more powerful mission and message than being forced to help Ruthie in her revenge. Also, I just couldn’t stand Ruthie at all and she only became tolerable towards the middle/ end part of the movie. It also felt kind of rushed compared to Superman; where we were introduced to many different characters who broke off into their own side quests, while still keeping them relevant to the story. I wish Supergirl also gave that full fleshed experience. I lowkey wasn’t into the soundtrack but I absolutely loved the fight scenes. I also really enjoy that this movie kind of confirms that Clark actually was sent to earth with the intent to conquer and spread the kryptonian race. And I’m pretty sure in comics in general Clark’s parents aren’t the best people. Overall, I didn’t hate it and I enjoyed Lobo. I’m very excited to see how DC uses both Supergirl and Lobo in future projects.Overall: 7/10🌙
