Recent Watch*Voicemails for Isabel

Hey Bloggers~, today’s recent watch is a Netflix original romcom/dramedy called Voicemails for Isabelle. I originally heard about this movie through some YouTube ads and I immediately got excited

because I am a MAJOR romcom lover. And honestly I feel the 2020’s has been facing a serious deficit in the romcom department and my soul has been thristy for a fun, modern, tearjerking, heartwarming movie. And I can confidently say Voicemails for Isabelle checked those boxes. I think the storyline was really nice and the movie didn’t feel like it was dragging. I loved the main character Jill (Zoey Deutch) and the way she portrayed grief and sisterhood throughout this movie. As a big sister it really hit me hard imagining how hard it would be to live a life without my sisters. Wes, the male lead played by Nick Robinson was also a vey comedic character in my opinion. You could really feel the affection and romantic connection growing between Jill and Wes. Also, I love how he was held accountable and tried to right his wrongs in the movie. I honestly shed so many tears and had many laughs so I would definitely watch this again.

Overall: 8/10
